Jag älskar Byredo Parfums lyxiga dofter och nu har de lanserat en ny som jag ska gå raka spåret och sniffa på när jag åker till Stockholm. Jag föll direkt för den vackra historien bakom. Mojave Ghost är inspirerad av en blomma i Mojaveöknen. En vacker blomma som trots sin hårda och missgynnsamma omgivning växer upp och fortsätter att blomma år efter år. The Mojave Desert, a vast prehistoric landscape spanning south-eastern California, southern Nevada, south- western Utah and north-western Arizona. An immense expanse of climatic extremes taking its name from the Native American term for ‘beside the water’. The soulful beauty of the Mojave Desert is as comforting to many as it is hostile to others. In this xeric wilderness trees and vegetation more ancient than many civilisations defy conditions that prey on human vulnerability.
The ghost flower is a rare species that dares to blossom above this baked, hard ground. Its pale almost trans- lucent petals suggest a delicate, fragile state, yet this wondrous plant lives where life seems all but absent. Its ethereal appearance belies its strength and nature.
A woody composition with a light and graceful character that slowly discloses its true intensity. Heady top notes of musky Ambrette combine with sweet, fresh Jamaican Nesberry. Delicate, powdery Violet then unfurls to reveal soft, lingering Sandalwood brightened with fresh Magnolia. Finally warm Chantilly Musk rounds out a base of crisp Amber and elegant Cedar wood, leaving the spirit of Mojave Ghost to linger on the skin.
